Is there such thing as belts in kungfu?

Is it just karate? If I try Kung Fu will I become stronger?|||Not traditionally, no. I believe Judo was the first to use a belt system that exists like today. Other styles and systems followed soon after that.|||First up, Wu Shu is the proper Chinese term for Martial Arts. Kung Fu just means Great Achievement in any area. (Wu = Martial, Military, War, Armed Might, etc.; Shu = Arts, Skills, Techniques, etc.; Kung or Gung = Work, Labor, etc.; Fu = Man, Husband, Master {of the household}, etc.) Korean and Japanese styles use belts to show rank, but Chinese styles use sashes or have neither belts not sashes. The colors are different too.

To become stronger, lift barbells or do isometrics. martial arts don't make you noticeably stronger, but they help you use your strength better.|||Kung-fu utilize either sashes, or no form of belt/sashes. A typical "belt" system is used in Korean or Japanese Martial Arts.

Martial art's typically don't make you stronger - yes, you will develop muscle tone/definition, but if you want to add muscle, incorporate some sort of weight training with your martial arts training. Martial arts will help you understand your strength better, and use it to your advantage.|||Legit Traditional Kung Fu schools dont use a belt system. Some may have sashes but they dont use belt systems. If u find a Kung Fu school that uses a belt system then theres a 90% chance its a McDojo.|||No it's not just Karate, yes you will become stronger and weather or not the kung fu school has belts or sashes or neither depends on the school.|||No, there are no belts in kung fu, traditionally they have sashes. The belt system is Japanese.

Yes, you will become stronger.|||some kung fu systems have belt or sash ranks now in imitating Korean and Japanese arts.
