Which is the most powerful in a real fight-Shaolin Kungfu,Muay Thai or Taekwondo?

.357 Magnum...nothing more powerful that can be held in one hand...

Which is more irritating: this question, or the literally THOUSANDS just like it that have already been asked and answered??|||Shaolin Kungfu is largely geared towards performance and acrobatics nowadays... In terms of chinese martial arts, sanda would probably be the best combat sport, but it is relatively recent, and its training methods are very heavily influenced by Muay Thai. Choi Lei Fut is generally thought to be the best traditional chinese style (at least according to Bruce Lee).

Muay Thai is devastating: your most powerful tools in a fight are your knees and elbows, as they can stop a fight in seconds, and Muay Thai largely focuses on these...

Taekwondo... well suffice to say that the rules of Taekwondo sport have done the art no favor... it doesn't really prepare you for a real fight.

But the deadliest art of them all is of course Kung Fu Do, an hybrid, which is so secret it might actually be a joke!|||It really depends on the fighter. All of those are very similar.

My style of Tae Kwon Do (Chung Do Kwan) is the oldest and strongest form of TKD. It's over 2000 years old and has knees and elbows just like Muay Thai. It is actually more effective than Muay Thai and I have training both styles so I'm not buyist.|||Well I don't have anything but my opinion on which is better in a real(street) fight but MMA is a great way to see what style work best. Right now in MMA Muay Thai is standing out as the most dominant style in standup. I haven't seen Taekwondoe in MMA since about 15 years ago and it didn't stand out as very dominant. I've heard people like Joe Rogan and others say its worthless in a real fight and Joe Rogan was a TKD black belt champion in a few weight classes. Cung Le is cleaning house with San Shou which ive heard is similar to kung fu but thats the only one I know that uses it. I would go with what is working in the closest thing to a real fight and thats Muay Thai.|||i thnk muay thai has the best and most realistic methods.. i mean if you are trained super well and are fast enough to use shaolin kungfu then of coarse it will be better, but muay thai doesnt try to use lightning fast reflexxes to try and block a blow or something, it is more like american boxing which teaches to protect yourself and try to minimize the effect of a blow|||As others have said it totally depends on the fighter and teh way they train.

Edit for Bujinkin Ninja- I know that there is no actual style of TKD that is anywhere near that old. All TKD was developed in this century. There may be certian techniques that are older, but the actual styles themselves are not.

I would think if you had truly trained this style you would know that.|||i dont see where people say they're quite similar.

you will learn drastically different fighting strategies in each of these arts.

for fast results for hard contact fighting...muay thai wins hands down.

for sport tournaments taekwondo wins

for a long term-in depth study of mind, body, and spirit...shaolin kung fu wins.|||not to downplay anything but its my opinion tae kwon do would have no place with muay thai and kung fu of any sort let alone shaolin it just seems inferior to use your kicks as a primary i myself have forced inside on tae kwon do guys and they almost froze they couldnt react from that close...try that muay thai and catch a knee or elbow lol|||That's kind of like asking what the best paintbrush is if you want to be an artist. Paintbrushes don't paint all by themselves. Styles don't fight by themselves. Both require people to use them and the skill of the person is the deciding factor.|||like ninja said its all depend on the fighter......how ever it is believed that taekwondo is more powerful compared to others..

because in taekwondo fighters use quiet often legs to attack rather than hands|||shaolin kung fu for sure if he actually knows wats hes doing|||it depends on a lot of things but personally i think shaolin kung fu would win and tae kwon do would lose horribly|||It depend on the person entirely but I would say Muay Thai is my fave|||I never knew there were people named after martial arts.|||has someone said,"MMA" yet, cause they will, you'll see.
